India is a Model for the World, not just a Market PM Modi in Muscat

Muscat, Dec 18 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the Indian community in Muscat, spoke about India’s transformational growth and development, highlighting the speed and scale of change underway across the country. He underlined the strength of the Indian economy, noting that it recorded growth of over 8 per cent in the last quarter.
The Prime Minister underscored that "India today is not just a market, but a model for the world," ranging from goods and services to cutting-edge digital solutions.
Alluding to the achievements of the government over the past 11 years, PM Modi said India has witnessed transformational changes in key sectors such as infrastructure development, manufacturing, healthcare, green growth, and women empowerment.
He said India is preparing itself for the "21st century by building a world-class ecosystem of innovation, startups, and Digital Public Infrastructure."
Highlighting India’s leadership in digital payments, the Prime Minister said the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which accounts for nearly 50 per cent of all digital payments globally, is a matter of national pride.
PM Modi also highlighted India’s recent landmark achievements in the space sector, "from the successful landing on the Moon to the upcoming Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission". He noted that space is an important area of collaboration between India and Oman, and invited students to participate in ISRO’s YUVIKA programme aimed at nurturing young talent.
Affirming that the India-Oman partnership is becoming future-ready, the Prime Minister said the two countries are strengthening cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital learning, innovation partnerships, and entrepreneurship exchanges. Calling upon the youth, he urged them to dream big, learn deeply, and innovate boldly so they can contribute meaningfully to humanity.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to the welfare of the Indian diaspora, PM Modi assured the community that “whenever and wherever our people are in need of help, the Government of India is there to hold their hand.”
The Prime Minister noted the age-old ties between India and Oman, from Mandvi to Muscat, which are being nurtured today by the Indian diaspora through hard work and togetherness.
He appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the community in the Bharat Ko Janiye quiz and emphasized that knowledge has always been central to India-Oman relations.
He congratulated the community on the completion of 50 years of Indian schools in Oman and thanked His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for his continued support for the welfare of the Indian community.
